Research Associate / Research Assistant at the University of Rostock open

The Systems Biology & Bioinformatics group (www.sbi.uni-rostock.de) at the University of Rostock has an opening for a postdoctoral researcher and/or graduate student (aiming for a PhD).

The ideal candidate should have a background in mathematics or physics (with a strong interest in interdisciplinary research) or experience in the field of systems biology.

Although there are no pre-specified research objectives (details can be adjusted to the applicant's interests), the work should focus on either nonlinear dynamics, stochastic modelling, or system identification, relevant to applications in molecular & cell biology (cell signalling, gene expression, regulatory networks).
The University post involves four hours of teaching per week during the semester and is paid according to the academic salary scales at German Universities (depending on experience, age, marital status etc.).

Rostock is located along the baltic coast, close to Denmark and Schweden, two hours from Hamburg and Berlin. The region around Rostock is one of the most popular holiday destinations in Germany, with an extensive coastline, national parks and nature reserves. The University of Rostock was founded in 1419 and is one of the oldest in Europe.

A CV including the contact details for three referees should be sent to
