A staff Scientist position is available for a highly motivated computer scientist with interests in the analysis of large biological datasets, in particular datasets that are based on images and functional genomic experimentation.


The successful applicant will hold a funded semi-independent position in a multi-disciplinary group headed by Drs Wrana, Pelletier and Durocher at the Centre for Systems Biology at the Samuel Lunenfeld Research Institute. The successful applicant will be expected to develop novel and innovative methods for the analysis, integration and representation of biological systems. The successful applicant will be encouraged to publish their work, either as part of collaborations or as a lead author.


We are seeking someone with a background in Physics, Mathematics or Computer Sciences. A university degree (Ph.D.) is essential. The successful candidate will be well versed in the computational and mathematical analysis of complex systems and demonstrate a strong interest in the development and application of machine learning, image analysis and graph theory.

The candidate needs to be self-motivated and have the ability to work well independently and in a team environment, and have excellent communication skills with desire to share knowledge and skills with others.
