2 PhDs & 2 postdocs: Systemic regulation of cell polarity open

We are a trio of labs in Cambridge (UK), Trento (Italy) and Tokyo (Japan) about to undertake a collaborative and interdisciplinary project funded by the HFSP (http://www.cosbi.eu/index.php/research/projects/hfsp) to study systemic aspects of cell polarity regulation, using fission yeast as experimental model.

We will use a combination of state-of-the-art genetics, high-content and quantitative microscopy and computational modelling, to reconstruct how polarity regulators act in concert at the cell cortex to initiate, maintain or inactivate polarized cell growth.

We are seeking biologists with training in physics or computer science, and physicists/mathematicians/computer scientists interested in working on quantitative biology, to start immediately.

Candidates should be highly motivated, with a record of excellence, and experienced or able to work in an interdisciplinary environment. A strong background in at least one of the following areas is required: quantitative live microscopy, image processing and programming, yeast cell biology/genetics, computational modeling of biological systems.

If interested, please send your CV, a brief three-line description of motivation, and contact information for two references to:
