Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering
Colorado State University

A postdoctoral position is available immediately at the Prasad Lab in the Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering, Colorado State University, Fort Collins, Colorado. The Prasad Lab uses computational and theoretical tools to study some key problems in biology. Main projects in the lab are focused on (i) understanding bone tissue regeneration mechanistically at a multiscale level (ii) modeling the human immune response, both at the level of individual cells and the organism. Other projects include studying the cytoskeleton and bacterial photosynthesis. Our projects are carried out in collaborations with experimental labs. Highly motivated applicants with expertise in statistical physics, chemical engineering, bioengineering, systems biology or other areas of computational biology are particularly encouraged to apply.
Some more details about the lab and current projects can be found at http://www.engr.colostate.edu/cheme/pages/Ashok_Prasad.html

We have a state of the art 96-core computer cluster with INTEL processors. The resources at the Colorado State University campus are also available. Fort Collins, CO is located along the foothills of the Rocky Mountains and is regarded as one of the best places to live in the USA. The position will be for one year, renewable for a second year.
