A research associate position in the Systems Biology Research Group at the University of Rostock open

A research associate position is available in the Systems Biology Research Group at the University of Rostock (Olaf Wolkenhauer, www.sbi.uni-rostock.de) for a duration of 3 years and which could lead to a PhD.

Candidates should have a Masters degree or diploma in either mathematics, physics, engineering or computer science and demonstrate the ability to do independent research in an interdisciplinary environment.

They are expected to support the group leader in administrative and teaching matters. A solid mathematical background and excellent English language skills are required.

The salary is according to the German University payment scheme (E13).

The Wolkenhauer Group provides a vibrant research environment, with a number of active research projects in the areas of bioinformatics and systems biology. The group moved in July 2009 into a new building and provides excellent facilities.

The University of Rostock (founded in 1419) is one of the oldest in Europe and the north-east of Germany is one of the most attractive tourist regions of Germany.
