BioSim (FP6)
BioSim is a Network of Excellence established by the European Commission under its 6th Framework Programme. BioSim was initiated on December 1, 2004. The main objective of the Network is to demonstrate how the use of modern simulation technique through a deeper and more qualitative understanding of the underlying biological, pathological and pharmacological processes can lead to a more rational drug development process, improved treatment procedures, and a reduction in the needs for animal experiments.

HepatoSys - Systems Biology Competence Network of Hepatocytes (Germany)
HepatoSys is a german national project on systems biology of hepatocytes.
HepatoSys will focus on a quantitative understanding of complex and dynamic cellular processes in regeneration (network project Freiburg) as well as detoxification and de-differentiation (network project Stuttgart) in human hepatocytes. The aim is to arrive at a holistic understanding of these life processes and to be able to present and make these processes accessible in silico, ie through software, on the computer.
The project is funded by BMBF.

The Lipid MAPS Consortium
The Lipid MAPS Consortium is now proposing to focus on the lipid section of the metabolome by developing an integrated metabolomic system capable of characterizing the global changes in lipid metabolites ("lipidomics"). Our consortium has developed a Lipid Metabolites and Pathways Strategy, termed LIPID MAPS, that applies a global integrated approach to the study of lipidomics.
LIPD MAPS is funded by National Institute of General Medical Sciences (NIGMS) Glue Grant.
